Forte’s Artistic and Education Director, Liam Day, a regular guest performer at the Metropolitan Opera, was spotted on the Met’s Instagram recently rehearsing with the orchestra, on the stage, and in full costume! Liam, a trumpeter, will be performing in the Metropolitan Opera’s monumental new production of Wagner’s Lohengrin by François Girard, which opens on February 26th at Lincoln Center.
“I am always trying to transport my listeners to someplace special when performing,” Liam shared. “Having world-class stage directors, costume designers, makeup artists, and set designers really takes that idea and sends the audience to another world.”
Besides being an invaluable member of Forte’s team, Liam is a trumpeter who graduated from Juilliard and performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera and the NY Philharmonic. You can see and hear Liam in the Met Opera Orchestra rehearsal of Lohengrin. (2:27 mark)
The entire Forte team is very excited for Liam! If you’re interested in seeing Lohengrin in person February 26th – April 1st, check out the Metropolitan Opera’s Lohengrin event page. You can also view the performance from home via their live stream.
