We’re happy to announce that students can now create teacher reviews! This is a great opportunity for students to share their experience, and for teachers to have testimonials that can attract new students on Forte Connect – our upcoming feature where prospective students will be able to search and view public teacher profiles and request lessons directly through the platform.
As a student, teacher reviews are your way to tell the world what makes your music teacher great. This will help them attract new students and expand their studio. It can be challenging to write a review that will effectively help your teacher, so we created this guide to provide useful tips so that your review makes a positive impact. .
To write a teacher review, students must log into their Forte account
Navigate to the “Materials” section on the left once you are logged in to your Forte account.
After clicking on “Materials,” you will be able to see a dropdown menu that lists each of your teachers on Forte. Select the teacher you want to leave a review for and click on “Review your teacher.” This will lead to a pop-up where you can write a review.
Provide important details about your music teacher.
Your review should provide important information that will help other students find the right teacher for them. While reviews should never be extremely long, we want your teacher review to be personal and written in complete sentences. A one-word review won’t help your favorite music teacher stand out.
If you’re stuck, ask yourself these questions:
- How does your teacher’s teaching style resonate with you and help you learn?
- What has been your biggest achievement while taking lessons with your teacher, and how did they help you get there?
- What are specific instances where your teacher’s qualifications, experience, and specialties elevate your lessons?
Answering these three questions will help you figure out what to focus on in your teacher review. Also, don’t be afraid to mention other information that you think is relevant!
Don’t be afraid to add information about yourself.
Are you an adult learner? Or are you writing a review on behalf of your child?
Have you been learning music for years? Or are you a beginner?
If your teacher has accommodated your specific set of circumstances, don’t be afraid to mention that in your review! Adding a personal touch to your review will help prospective students see how your teacher could complement their learning style and goals.
Every music student is unique. That’s why your teacher review should be too.
Make sure to leave a star rating!
After you’re done writing your review, make sure you leave a rating. You can leave 1 to 5 stars depending on your experience with your teacher. Many prospective students might not read a whole review, but they’ll likely notice a star rating. Take into consideration all of your experiences with your teacher to leave a fair and considerate rating. We consider a 5-star teacher to be someone that has met all of your reasonable standards and expectations.
That’s it! Teacher reviews are an amazing way to help your music teacher and show your appreciation for everything they’ve done. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you have to say.
